The C1 Moonglow
Lunar Module
Although part of the C1 Grand Malvern premium dress watch line, the Moonglow is unique – both in its design and the movement that powers it.
Most eye-catching of all is the presence of two three-dimensional moons on the dial. Positioned opposite from one another, they’re coated with Grade X1 GL C1 Super-LumiNova® which emits an otherworldly ‘moonglow’. Perpetually rotating thanks to Calibre JJ04, the phase of the moon is read through an aperture at 12 o’clock, while the other moon remains clouded through smoked glass.
The innovation doesn’t stop there. Instead of a conventional date window, a rotating ring has been coated with Grade X1 GL C1 Super-LumiNova®, which aligns with the current date on a lumed outer-date ring. This enables you to read the date in even the darkest of conditions.
And with an easy-to-wear diameter of 40.5mm and water resistance to 30 metres, the Moonglow is not only a beautiful timing instrument but surprisingly practical, too.

Calibre JJ04 Automatic Moonphase
Calibre JJ04, Christopher Ward's in-house moonphase modification, is a technological marvel.
Unlike most moonphase complications that transition once per day, JJ04 offers a more dynamic approach. Using the Sellita SW220 as a base, the date wheel, along with its spring-loading assembly, have been stripped out and replaced by four further wheels to drive the moon disc, with two more required for the setting mechanism.
The result is a smooth perpetual action that sees the moon arc gracefully across the star-filled night sky, and if kept wound, Calibre JJ04 will remain accurate to a day every 128 years.

Happy Moonday
The watch’s beautifully rendered ‘moon’ tracks the movement of the real thing with total accuracy. And will do so accurately for the next 128 years.

3D heaven
The watch’s three-dimensional moons are placed at either ends of a rotating disc beneath the dial. They’re coated with Grade X1 GL C1 Super-LumiNova® which emits an otherworldly ‘moonglow’ you’ll find hard to resist.

Perfect case
The C1 Moonglow uses a ‘light-catcher™’ case, which gets its name from the way light bounces off its polished and brushed surfaces. Few cases are as comfortable to wear.

Special date
Replacing a conventional date window, a rotating ring – coated with Grade X1 GL C1 Super-LumiNova® – circles the dial and aligns with the current date on the outer-date ring.

The power of the Moon
Moonphase watches have long been a symbol of high-level horology. As well as telling the time, a moonphase watch follows the moon’s 29.5-day cycle as it journeys across the sky (taking in every part, from ‘new’ moon to ‘full’ moon).
