A legend reborn – at a price you’ll love
Our logos have been known to cause the odd disagreement.
And with No 1 Park St alive with chatter about our current insignia, thoughts turned to the ‘big-C’ emblem that graced our early watches. Could we bring it back for one last hurrah? And if so, where would it live?
The obvious choice was the C5 Malvern Automatic, Christopher Ward’s debut watch. Released in June 2005, it not only put Swiss-made mechanical timepieces in reach of a wider audience, but also proved that we didn’t need a bricks-and-mortar store to sell real watches.
That’s why the new C5 Malvern Revival Special Edition is such an emotive watch – it takes you back to the start of the Christopher Ward story, and does so at a price that belies its premium quality. In terms of value propositions, this is as good as it gets.
Modelled on the C5 Malvern Automatic, its dial design is near-identical to the original. The sleek baton handset enhances the art-deco aesthetic, while polished and faceted indexes indicate how far we’ve come in terms of finishing. Finally, the date wheel at 6 o’clock now balances with the much-loved ‘big-C’ insignia at 12 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the reliable, tough and accurate Sellita SW200-1 movement, which boasts a power reserve of 38 hours. Meanwhile, the 40.5mm C1 Grand Malvern Light-catcher™ case is not just perfect for any size of wrist, but also sits low enough for a cuff to easily slide over. Turn the watch over and the exhibition case back lets you see deep into every part of the movement.
Another upgrade on the original is that the leather strap comes with our in-house Bader deployant, which enables you to adjust or take the watch off with minimal fuss. And if you want to swap it for another strap, our quick-release system makes it a breeze.
Whether you missed out on the original Malvern or only became a CW devotee in the intervening years, the C5 Malvern Revival Special Edition gives you the chance to wear a piece of our watchmaking history – for the cost of a weekend away.
Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement

Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement
This Swiss-made self-winding movement is known for its accuracy and reliability.
The 26-jewel movement boasts a date wheel, a 4Hz frequency (equating to a smooth eight ticks per second) and a 38-hour power reserve. It also has an in-built anti-shock system to maintain accuracy when faced with any sudden jolts.

2005 inspiration
I think the C5 Malvern Revival SE is a great testament to the iconic model that launched Christopher Ward in 2005. The original styled dial coupled with the original company logo is a wonderful touch. Having this classic original styled dial in an updated 40.5mm case is a perfect choice for a Limited Edition.

The first and much-loved ‘big-C’ logo makes a final return with the words ‘Christopher Ward LONDON’ taking you back to 2005.

Case closed
The Light-catcher™ case is a huge upgrade on our first ever case. Designed to sit snug and low, its 40.5mm size makes it ideal for any size of wrist.

Clearly beautiful
The clear case back lets you see Sellita’s SW200-1 movement in action and gives you a vista into the magic of mechanical watchmaking.

Date night
In a move away from the C5 Malvern Automatic, the date wheel is now at 6 o’clock – a move that fits in with the symmetrical design of recent CW watches.
