Time is running out for some of the world’s most endangered species. Every year, tens of thousands of animals are killed to fuel the Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT), a multi-billion-pound criminal industry that drives elephants, big cats, pangolins and countless other species towards extinction. The scale and speed of destruction is staggering, making IWT one of the greatest threats to global biodiversity.
That’s why Christopher Ward has strengthened its partnership with David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) through a bold new initiative: Stopping Time on Extinction.
DSWF is an influential wildlife charity, operating across Africa and Asia to end wildlife crime and protect endangered species in their natural habitats. Since 1984, they have invested over £14 million directly into frontline conservation. Born from a creative legacy, they continue to harness the power of art, in memory of Founder, the celebrated artist and conservationist David Shepherd, to educate, inspire, and empower people to join their fight for wildlife.
Their approach is holistic, and people centred. By investing in economically and socially vulnerable communities living alongside wildlife, DSWF tackles the root causes of wildlife crime and creates safe spaces for endangered species to thrive. From supporting law enforcement operations and undercover investigations, to funding education and poverty alleviation initiatives, their work addresses the crisis at every level. DSWF also act where demand is highest, influencing policy and shifting consumer attitudes in wildlife consumer countries to end the trade for good.
With renewed investment from Christopher Ward, DSWF can scale up this vital work. Together, we are:
- Protecting wildlife on the frontlines – equipping and supporting ranger patrols to deter poachers and safeguard vulnerable species across key biodiversity hotspots.
- Disrupting criminal networks – developing intelligence-led tools to expose traffickers, dismantle supply chains, and provide actionable insights to law enforcement.
- Reducing demand and driving policy change – shifting consumer behaviour through awareness campaigns, while lobbying governments to close legal loopholes and strengthen protections.
This isn’t just charity: it’s purpose in action. Christopher Ward’s commitment amplifies DSWF’s conservation expertise, creating measurable outcomes on the ground while giving endangered species a fighting chance.
Together, we’re showing what ethical partnership can achieve, uniting precision watchmaking with urgent conservation impact. Because when it comes to extinction, every second counts.
