History

Where it all began

When Trident launched, in 2009, its mix of classic dive-watch looks and build quality signalled the growing company’s ambition.

Since then, that ambition has inspired us to make each iteration of Trident better than the last. From 2015’s Pro 600 to the Grade 2 titanium Elite 1000 (and its helium-release valve), Trident has always delivered innovation and value for our fans. And nothing demonstrates that better than the current Pro 300 – whose super-slim case was created after consultations with the CW Forum.

Today, the Trident series includes models as diverse as the all-lume Lumière and ultra-colourful Reef. One thing, however, remains the same. Each Trident is rigorously tested to function from 200m underwater.

Steel, titanium and bronze

Original Trident
materials

Every Trident is constructed in materials designed to look good, protect the movement and function at depth.

Trident’s signature metal is 316L marine-grade steel – an austenitic stainless steel with anti-corrosive properties, particularly in marine environments.

Since Trident’s launch, we’ve increasingly used bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, that develops a unique patina over time. Meanwhile, our elite titanium models combine superlative strength with unmatched lightness.

Hey, good looking

Handsome
devil

Trident may be engineered for the ocean, but its good looks will cause a splash on dry land.

The classic, 20th-century dive aesthetic is the starting point for each model’s design, but differences in finishing, materials and colour deliver an unbeatable set of options.

Whether you go for the timeless look of the Pro 300, the graded dial of the Atoll or the multi-coloured Reef, there’ll always be a Trident for you.

Engineered for professionals

The choice of the
professionals

When you’re diving at depth, you need a watch that functions under the most gruelling of conditions. Which is why every Trident case is water-resistant to at least 300m. But that’s only half the story: on the Pro 300 the super-slim case is just 11mm thick – so you may forget you’re wearing it.

Legibility is also non-negotiable. On all Tridents, the indexes and handset are deep-filled with Super-LumiNova® luminous pigment for hi-vis timekeeping. With the Trident Lumière, we use blocks of Globolight™ – a luminous ceramic – so it delivers twice the lume of any other Trident.

And, because you can’t afford to take chances on a dive, Trident’s carefully engineered bezel boasts one of the best ‘clicks’ in watchmaking – a vital aid in timing ascents.

A Bespoke Trident?

You can now make your own version of the Trident through Christopher Ward’s Bespoke department, which has already created limited edition watches for YouTube reviewer Andrew Morgan and The Vamps’ band member James McVey.

Meanwhile, watch clubs at tech brands, plus luxury car clubs, have collaborated with Bespoke to make a series of Tridents with one-off colourways, mottos and badges.
