The ultimate international timing device
The ultimate international timing device
If you’re not familiar, the ‘GMT’ complication was popularised by US airline Pan-Am, when it collaborated with Rolex to create the 1954 GMT-Master. Issued to selected crews, the watch allowed pilots to set a ‘home’ time zone with the fourth ‘GMT’ hand and 24-hour bezel, while changing the ‘regular’ time to their current location.
The stunning Trident GMT 300 sees the much-anticipated return of the GMT complication to Christopher Ward’s signature ‘Trident’ series, and allows you to monitor up to three separate time zones from your wrist. To see a GMT watch once more in the Trident stable is a reminder of the complication’s popularity with fans since the first Trident GMT appeared in 2009.
A vital part of GMT functionality is the bi-directional bezel. On both blue and white models of the Trident GMT 300, the bezel – made from non-scratch ceramic – is split into contrasting ‘day’ and ‘night’ sections. Meanwhile, on the green fumé-dialled version, the bezel boasts a sandblasted finish and raised, polished numbers.
If you need clarity and sophistication, both the highly polished blue and white dials provide the perfect canvas for the handset. But if you prefer a dial that ‘pops’, the green ‘fumé’ dial – which changes tone across from the centre to the edge – might be for you.
Whichever model you choose, the perfectly chamfered hour indexes have been filled with even more Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 GL C1, while the twin-flags logo is applied – and carries a subtle brushed finish. The lume-filled handset makes telling the time a dream, while the fourth brightly-coloured GMT hand – also filled with lume – lets you monitor another time zone with accuracy, day or night.
Powering the watch is the Sellita SW330-2, a tried-and-tested GMT movement that allows you to set the fourth hand separately to the time zone of your choice. As well as being super-accurate, it has a power reserve of up to 56 hours, so you can take the watch off for a couple of days, and it’ll still be ticking away.
All three watches are available on the sporty Aquaflex rubber strap, the classic Bader bracelet or jewellery-like Consort bracelet – all with our quick-release system.

Sellita SW330-2 Automatic
The Sellita SW330-2 is an alternative to the ETA 2893, and a movement that provides both superb accuracy and GMT timing.
Just 4.1mm thick, the SW330-2 has 25 jewels and beats at a rate of 28,800 per hour with a power reserve of up to 56 hours. The central GMT hand can be set independently from the hour and seconds hands.
As well as providing both regular and GMT timekeeping, the SW330-2 also boasts a power reserve of up to 56 hours thanks to an improvement in its barrels (as seen on the SW330-1).
Its crown positions are 1) Manual winding, 2) adjustment of date, and GMT hand 3) Time setting and hacked seconds.
greenwich.mean.time
The ‘GMT’ stands for Greenwich Mean Time – mean solar time at the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, London. It serves as a global time standard, often used to coordinate time across different regions – hence its use in aviation, and following this, as a horological complication.
sellita.sw330-2.movement
Sellita’s 25-jewel GMT calibre lets you monitor any of the world’s time zones, by bringing the GMT hand together with the 24-hour bezel. It also delivers a power reserve of up to 56 hours.
textured.steel.bezel
The sandblasted steel bezel is used in conjunction with the fourth ‘GMT’ hand to denote the time in another timezone. The raised and polished numerals add texture and clarity.

Has there ever been a dial as beautiful as the green fumé one on the Trident GMT 300? See how the colour gradually changes from the centre and how the yellow GMT hand contrasts with the subtle shading.
