Bronze has weathered storms for centuries, from ships' bells to propellers, taking on the sea's abuse and wearing it well. This one's built for exactly that.
No two Biscay Bronzes will ever look the same. As the C60 Trident Biscay Bronze ages, its case develops a patina that's entirely its own, shaped by the air it's worn in, the wrist it sits on, and the life it lives along the way. Available in 39mm, it pairs Christopher Ward's redesigned Light-catcher™ case with a slim 11mm profile, a box sapphire crystal and the most sensual bezel action in watchmaking.
Rather than continuing with industry-standard 'CuSn6' bronze, Christopher Ward has adopted a marine-grade aluminium bronze alloy (the catchy 'CuAl10Ni5Fe4'), that's 10 percent aluminium, 5 percent nickel, 4 percent iron, and 100 percent gorgeous.
Used in the most demanding conditions at sea, the material offers greater resistance to seawater corrosion while retaining bronze's unique character. The result is a watch that develops its patina more gradually and evenly than traditional bronze, preserving its rich golden appearance for longer while still evolving over time.
As with the other Biscay Automatic, the Bronze features a box sapphire crystal, 200 metres of water resistance and the COSC-certified Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement. Rose-gold-plated hands add old-school luxury, while the signature Trident counterbalance and refined Light-catcher™ case ensure it remains unmistakably a Trident.
The dial features minimal text, a granular texture and prominent Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock, all individually applied. The numerals are complemented by brushed and polished baton indexes and diamond-cut hands, filled with a custom beige version of Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 BL for an aged, retro look.
The aluminium bezel features a new, super-tough anodised surface, awash with lume for nocturnal visibility. Thanks to a more intricate tooth profile, it also has a better grip in-hand, so each of its 120 clicks feels precise and satisfying to turn. Water resistance is 200 metres, secured by a screw-down crown and case back.
Turn the Biscay Bronze over, and the exhibition case back provides a view into the Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement and its elaboré finishing and new rotor. The watch is available on either a hybrid strap, or a distressed vintage oak leather strap, both featuring Christopher Ward's quick-release system for easy changing.
Fair warning: once you've felt what Biscay's capable of, everything else feels like calm before the storm.

The chronometer-certified SW300-1 is a true no-date version of Sellita’s SW300-1 automatic movement, whose calendar components are removed without any ‘phantom’ date position. Measuring just 3.6mm in height and 25.6mm in diameter, it beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and uses 25 jewels to minimise friction and maximise durability. Displaying central hours, minutes, and sweeping seconds, it features hacking seconds and manual winding for accurate setting. A bidirectional winding rotor and optimised mainspring provide a power reserve of approximately 56 hours.
