From the track to your wrist
From the track to your wrist
Like the car that inspired it, the C1 Morgan Classic Chronometer is the perfect fusion of engineering and design. Its mixture of brushed and polished surfaces, smooth ‘light-catcher™’ lines and 40.5mm diameter all result in a watch that will suit any wrist size.
A particularly pleasing detail is the crown, where the Morgan logo has been embossed. Turning it gives you a feel of the level of engineering involved in its construction.
The dial is an exercise in unfussy understatement. Elongated numerals at 12 and 6 are complemented by alternating raised indexes, while its opalin-white finish catches the light beautifully. Top-brushed, polished and curved hands, treated in a vibrant blue, add a splash of colour, while the Morgan crest is available at 12 o'clock.
The result is a dress watch that is – just like the car that shares its name – classic in every sense of the word.
Calibre SH21 Automatic Chronometer
Calibre SH21 hand-wound chronometer
Calibre SH21 movement was designed in-house by our then technical director Johannes Jahnke and is the first commercially viable mechanical movement from a British watch brand in over 50 years. In this particular version of Calibre SH21, small second and power reserve complications have also been added.
In this hand-wound version, Calibre SH21’s bridge has been specially skeletonised to reflect the design of the Classic’s steering wheel, while revealing its twin barrels underneath. When fully wound, both barrels – decorated here with an intricate concentric design – can supply five days’ worth of chronometer-certified timekeeping. The result is a movement that sits in the top five per cent of all Swiss-made calibres for accuracy.
