A ’berry bright idea
The red mulberry – morus rubra – is a species of mulberry native to North America. And its visceral, scarlet colour is the inspiration for this 36mm version of the C63 Sealander Automatic. A watch, built – as the name implies – for whatever the earth and the ocean can throw at it.
The first thing you’ll notice is the beautiful sunray dial in Mulberry Red – a shade which contrasts perfectly with the lume-filled handset and top-brushed, diamond-polished indexes. Meanwhile, the applied twin-flags logo – constructed in rhodium – adds depth, and is balanced by the date wheel at 6 o’clock.
The watch is one of the first to be paired with our new, dressier Consort bracelet, which, thanks to its five-link construction, forms close to the contours of your wrist (and whose butterfly clasp makes it super-easy to remove). Of course, the Sealander Automatic can also be worn with the three-link Bader™ bracelet for a contrasting sporty look: buying both bracelets is almost like having two watches for the price of one.
At 36mm, the Light-catcher™ case is ideal for those with slimmer wrists or watch-lovers who hark back to the smaller cases of old. Made from anti-corrosive 316L stainless steel, there’s something hypnotising about seeing light bounce off its brushed and polished surfaces.
Turn the watch over and the exhibition back, shows the twin flag-engraved rotor of the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, while further inspection lets you see deeper into the intricate machinery.The original sports-explorer watches were designed to provide reliable timekeeping to mountaineers. An update on the classic Sellita SW200, this Swiss-made self-winding movement is known for its accuracy and reliability.
The 26-jewel movement boasts a date wheel, a 4Hz frequency (equating to a smooth eight ticks per second) and a 38-hour power reserve. It also has an in-built anti-shock system to maintain accuracy when faced with any sudden jolts.
A deeper shade of red
The sunray dial in Mulberry Red is impossible to ignore – especially when light bounces off its textured surfaces. Meanwhile, the applied logo and date window add further depth and visual interest.
Say hello to Consort
The new ultra-polished Consort bracelet brings out the best in Sealander. Its five-link construction makes it super-flexible to wear, while the butterfly clasp provides the easiest way to remove your watch.
