Bronze and beautiful
Bronze and beautiful
There’s a warmth to a bronze that’s difficult to resist.
Especially when it’s used as the base metal for a chronometer like the C65 Dune Bronze.
A timepiece that combines the aesthetic of the 20th century field watches with the engineering and finishing of today.
The 38mm bronze Light-catcher™ case has been designed to sit snugly on your wrist so it’ll slide under a cuff easily, yet also look slender when you’re wearing short sleeves. And because it’s forged from bronze – an alloy of copper and tin – it will patinate over time as it reacts to the oxygen in the atmosphere. This will make your C65 Dune Bronze a true one-off.
Available in Marine Blue or Beachgrass, the dial is accentuated by the applied twin-flags logo at 12 o’clock and a date window at 6. Both the hour markers and handset are deep-filled with Super-LumiNova® Light Old Radium BL Grade X1 – delivering readability when lights are low.
Named after Aquitaine’s Dune du Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe, the watch retains the retro-style box crystal of CW’S 2022 Aquitaine range, but loses its rotating bezel. And when you turn the piece over, you can see the elaboré-finished rotor of the COSC-certified Sellita SW200 movement working away inside.
In terms of how you attach it to your wrist, the C65 Dune Bronze is available on our first ever all-bronze bracelet, which boasts a micro-adjustable clasp for adjustments on the go (ie, when your wrist swells in the heat). There are also webbing, leather or #tide strap options. And don’t forget, swapping between them is easy thanks to our quick-release system.
Sellita SW200 COSC Automatic
Sellita SW200 COSC Automatic
Designed for those who demand the highest standards of timekeeping, this Swiss-made automatic movement has been officially designated as a ‘chronometer’ by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres.
This means it has a certified timing tolerance of just -4/+6 seconds per day in a variety of temperatures and positions, putting it in the top six per cent of Swiss-made watches for accuracy.
The movement boasts a date wheel, a 4Hz frequency (equating to a smooth eight ticks per second) and a 38-hour power reserve. It also has an in-built anti-shock system to maintain accuracy when faced with any sudden jolts.
What the press say
about the C65 Dune
A case for everyone
The new 38mm Light-catcher™ case is perfect for any size wrist, while the fixed bezel adds a utilitarian feel – beloved of classic tool- or sports watches.
Lume and legibility
Love lume? Us too. That’s why the handset – including the ‘lollipop’ seconds hand – and hour markers have been deep-filled with Super-LumiNova® Old Radium BL Grade X1.
See more movement
Turn the watch over and you can see the elaboré-finished rotor of the Sellita SW200-1 movement – as viewed through the exhibition case back.
A bracelet of bronze
Behold: CW’s first-ever bronze bracelet, complete with micro-adjustable clasp and increased taper. Now the entire watch will patinate as you wear it, not just the watch-head.
Crystal? Clear
If you want to replicate the look of a 1960s sports watch, a glass box crystal is essential. Here, it delivers that telltale ‘wobble’ when viewed from the side.
